На сегодняшний день информация по стоматологическому статусу лиц, занимающихся спортивным плаванием противоречива и неоднозначна. Достаточно сложно отследить причинно-следственные связи между состоянием твердых тканей зубов, ротовой жидкости, стоматологического статуса спортсменов пловцов, и особенностями водной среды тренировочных бассейнов, где проходят спортивные занятия. В статье представлен анализ и систематизация литературных данных, посвященных изучению состояния зубочелюстной системы у лиц, занимающихся плаванием, сформулированы современные представления по данному вопросу и выделены направления, в которых можно продолжить научные исследования.

To date, information on the problem is contradictory and ambiguous. It is difficult to trace cause – effect relationships between the condition of hard dental tissues, oral fluid, the dental status of swimmers, and the characteristics of the water environment of training pools. The article presents an analysis and systematization of literature on the dental condition in swimming athletes, as well as formulates modern ideas on the subject and highlights topics for further research.
